Oleophobic

Oleophobing means "oil-repellent do", so the application of Appreturflüssigkeiten ( fleets ), dirt textiles or surfaces and to make oil repellent. In the case of textiles, this technology is used e.g. B. used in carpets and carpets, so that oil or dirt adhering to shoes does not damage the carpet. This will prevent the fibers from soaking up the oil. Surfaces can also be oleophobicized to prevent oil or oil-related substances from penetrating. Areas of application are e.g. B. kitchen countertops made of stone, which are so protected from staining by oily substances or prophylactic facades , on which graffiti then does not adhere so well and can therefore be removed more easily.

For purely oleophobic finishes, very polar compounds are usually used, which, however, are often not water-repellent or even water-soluble. For an oleo and hydrophobic finish, fluorocarbon compounds are used, the surface tension of which is greater than that of oil and water.
