Olev Vinn

Olev Vinn (born January 26, 1971 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian paleontologist and geologist .

Life

Vinn has described new genera and species of brachiopods , cornulitides , microconchids and other trace fossils . He is considered a specialist in extinct tubicolous fossils. He has published around 140 scientific articles and publications since 2000.

For 2017 he was awarded the Estonian State Prize for Geosciences. The Microconchida species Microconchus vinni was named after him in honor of his taxonomic research.
