Oliver Nitschmann

Oliver Nitschmann (born October 7, 1971 in Kiel ) is an American football coach and former player. Since September 2009 he has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon .

Career as a trainer

Nitschmann started as a coach at ASC Kiel in 1993. In the meantime he looked after and led more and more youth teams, e.g. B. the Kiel Wild Hurricanes and the Kiel Junior Hurricans, as the selection trainer Schleswig-Holstein, the Düsseldorf Panther, the Mönchengladbach Mavericks and the youth national team. In 2002 Nitschmann assisted the Defense Backs as an observation coach in the NFL Europe Camp in Tampa Bay with the Berlin Thunder. In 2002 he came to the Düsseldorf Panthers. There he coached the Junior Flags, the Rookies and the First Team.

He experienced his most successful sporting period with the rookies. There he took over the post of head coach in October 2004 and held this position until July 2008. During this time, Nitschmann became German champions four times in a row with the Düsseldorf Panther Rookies.

He then moved to the Mönchengladbach Mavericks. There he rebuilt and rebuilt the entire youth program. The youth program was expanded by three teams within two years. In addition to the U19s, the club now also has a U16, a U14 and, since 2010, a U12 tackle football team. The U19 rose three times in a row with Nitschmann without defeat and played in 2012 in the youth regional league NRW.

After the 2011 season, Nitschmann retired from coaching to take more time for his family.
