Olivier Guimond (actor, 1893)
Olivier Guimond père ( Ti-Zoune ; Tizoune ; born March 18, 1893 in Greater Sudbury , † October 9, 1954 in Montreal ) was a Canadian actor and comedian.
Guimond made his debut as an English-speaking actor in the Ottawa area during World War I in a duo with New York vaudeville actor Nosey Black . He later joined Arthur Pétrie's theater company , initially as a transport and stage worker . But his talent for acting was soon recognized there. With Tizoune he created a fictional character of universal incompetence who was often compared to Chaplin's tramp. With Rose Ouellette he appeared regularly as Boune et Tizoune .
In 1922 he separated from the Troupe Pétrie and founded his own acting troupe with his wife Effie Mac as the leading actress and dancer. In 1930 the two troops merged and then dominated the burlesque theater scene in Québec for 20 years with performances at the Thêátre National .
