Access is by road or on foot through a valley where there are some waterfalls. The famous Kykkos Monastery is located near Mount Olympos .
On the slopes of the mountain you can ski from January to March in the only ski area in Cyprus with three tow lifts and a chair lift between 150 and 500 meters in length. There are also two groomed cross-country trails here. On the north side of the Olympos there is a descent with a height difference of 120 meters and a length of 370 meters, which has been recognized by the FIS, the international ski association. An annual international ski race of the Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS) has been held here since 1977 .
