Omar Arellano Nuño (born May 29, 1967 in Tampico , Tamaulipas ) is a retired Mexican soccer player and soccer coach .

Arellano Nuño, who was mostly used in midfield , began his professional career in 1985 at Club Deportivo Guadalajara , with whom he was champion in the 1986/87 season. In 1995 he moved to the UANL Tigres , 1999 to Club León and then to the Bachilleres , a successor club of the Leones Negros de la UdeG , before ending his active career in the 2001/02 season at CF Pachuca , with whom he worked in the winter of 2001 won another championship title.

Trainer

After his active career, he first coached various reserve and youth teams from CF Pachuca and CD Guadalajara. He then moved to Atlético Madrid as assistant coach from Javier Aguirre . In the Clausura 2009 ( 2008/09 season ) he was temporarily head coach at CD Guadalajara. In the following season 2009/10 Arellano led the Club Necaxa to win the second division championship and thus back to the top division .

family

Arellano Nuño is the son of Raúl Arellano Vásquez and the father of Omar Arellano Riverón .
