Omar Mendiburu is a former Mexican football player at the position of a striker .

career

Mendiburu came in 1972 to the junior division of the CD Cruz Azul , where he also received his first professional contract in 1978 . In the following three seasons with the Cementeros Mendiburu was twice in a row champion and then again runner-up in the Mexican Primera División .

In 1981 Mendiburu switched to CD Coyotes Neza and two years later to CF Oaxtepec , for whom he played in its last first division season 1983/84 and on May 12, 1984 the club’s last first division in its own Estadio Unidad Deportiva del IMSS to 1-0 - Scored victory against the Club Universidad de Guadalajara . The two following seasons 1984/85 and 1985/86 he spent with the UANL Tigres , to which he returned for the 1988/89 season after a two-year stint at Puebla FC , with which he won the Copa México in 1988 . His last season as a professional in 1989/90 he spent in the ranks of Tampico-Madero FC .
