CF Oaxtepec
The Club de Fútbol Oaxtepec was a Mexican football club from the small town of the same name in the state of Morelos . It was founded in 1979 under the auspices of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS), the Mexican Institute for Social Security. This institution of the Mexican government was founded in 1943 by then President Manuel Ávila Camacho in response to corresponding demands of the working class and has the goal of maintaining and promoting the health of the population. Under the direction of IMSS, the much better known Club Santos Laguna was founded in the early 1980s .
history
The club, originally launched as CF Oaxtepec-IMSS , started in the third division in 1979/80 , which was won straight away, resulting in immediate promotion to the second division . In the 1981/82 season Oaxtepec also won this league and thus rose to the Primera División . There the club occupied in the seasons 1982/83 and 1983/84 first the 16th and then the 15th place out of 20 participants each, so that the team from Morelos could always prevent relegation. At the beginning of the 1984/85 season, the team was transferred to Puebla and renamed the Angeles de Puebla .

The club's home ground was the Estadio Unidad Deportiva del IMSS .
Famous players
Probably the most famous personality of the Halcones (falcons), as the troupe was nicknamed, was the Argentine Ricardo La Volpe , who was married to a Mexican . The future coach of the Mexican national team (during the Confederations Cup 2005 and the Soccer World Cup 2006 ) ended his goalkeeping career here at the end of the 1982/83 season and made his coaching debut here in 1983/84.
Other well-known players were Alberto Jorge and Víctor Manuel Vucetich .
