OMAS ( Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni ) is the name of a former Italian manufacturer of writing implements , especially fountain pens with a classic design. Since the company was founded in 1925 by Armando Simoni (1891–1958, "Cavaliere della Coronia d'Italia"), the company has been based in Bologna .

After Armando Simoni's death in 1958, his daughter Raffaella and her husband Angelo Malaguti took over the company. They were followed at the head of the company in 1983 by their then 18-year-old grandson Gianluca Malaguti, until the company finally became part of the LVMH Group in May 2000 .

Until recently, the fountain pens were equipped with a complex piston technology from the 1930s (capsule-less piston mechanism with rotating thread) and with hand-made ebonite ink fins and are based on the classic Greek design favored by the company founder, in particular on the model of the model series "Doric" from the US manufacturer Wahl-Eversharp .

The brand was discontinued in January 2016.
