Technical specifications
The cube-shaped satellite had a mass of 27 kg and orbited the earth in about 91 minutes. It was initially on an orbit between 245 and 375 kilometers altitude, at an inclination of 55.5 ° and circled the earth about 16 times a day. Omid had eight antennas and used two different frequencies to communicate with the ground station. The transmission frequency was 465 MHz, the reception ran over 401 MHz. The satellite is used for demonstration, research and telecommunications , successfully reached the end of the mission on March 19, 2009 and burned up on April 25, 2009.
