Safir
Safir is a launch vehicle developed in Iran . It is the first two-stage Iranian missile; its lower stage consists of a Shahab-3 medium-range missile, the upper stage is a new development.

According to the Iranian government, the first successful test of the Safir took place on August 16, 2008, after a failed attempt at launch on February 4 of the same year.
On February 2, 2009 the - relatively light - Iranian communications satellite Omid (in German hope ) was put into orbit with a Safir. This was equipped with eight antennas and radioed in two frequency bands.
On June 15, 2011, according to Iranian sources, the second Iranian satellite Rasad-1 for Earth observation was also brought into a 260 km high orbit with a Safir. In particular, it should provide high-resolution images for the creation of maps.
On February 3, 2012, the third satellite followed with Navid .
