José de Jesús Alfaro

José de Jesús Alfaro (* 1800 ; † 1855 ) was Director Supremo of Nicaragua in Granada from August 11 to November 2, 1851 .

Life

José de Jesús Alfaro was a member of the Partido Legitimista . On August 5, 1851, José Trinidad Muñoz Fernández and José Laureano Pineda Ugarte went with his cabinet from Léon to Honduras and returned to Nicaragua on November 2, 1851. In Granada, José Francisco de Montenegro and on August 11, 1851 José de Jesús Alfaro took over the post of Supremo Director. During this time, three people claimed the position of Director Supremo for themselves: Pineda in exile in Honduras, José Francisco del Montenegro in Granada (Nicaragua) and Justo Abaunza y Muñoz de Avilés in León (Nicaragua) . Francisco Castellón Sanabria attributed this to the intrigues of José Jorge Viteri y Ungo .
