Ong Ka Ting

Dato 'Seri Ong Ka Ting (黄 家 定 / Huáng Jiādìng; born November 15, 1956 in Perak ) is a Malaysian politician. He was the chairman of the Malaysian Chinese Association and Minister of Housing and County Government in Malaysia.

In 1980 he finished his studies of mathematics and chemistry at the University of Malaya (Universiti Malaya). He began his career as a teacher at a Catholic school in Petaling Jaya from 1981 to 1984.

Ong is married to Datin Seri Wendy Chong Siew Mei and has two children.

From 1986 to 1990 Ong was Political Secretary in the Ministry of Transport. On October 26, 1990 he became Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Health, on February 25, 1991 in the Ministry of the Interior and on May 3, 1993, Deputy Minister in the same Ministry. From 1999 to 2008 he headed the Ministry of Housing and District Administration.
