Ongley Island is a small island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 4 km west of Dee Island near the north coast of Greenwich Island .
The island was mapped in 1935 by scientists from the British Discovery Investigations . It is named after Leonard Thomas Ongley (1899–1944), cartographer of the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office .
