Onno Georg Behrends (* 1862 in Norden , East Frisia , † October 31, 1920 ibid) was an East Frisian tea manufacturer.

He opened a shop in Norderney in 1886 and sold, among other things, self-packaged tea. In 1888 he opened a “special tea shop” in his native city of Norden. In 1895, the later famous "Teekreuz" is registered as a trademark for the tea importer from North, with the band "Guarantee for good quality" around it. This makes the Teekreuz one of the oldest trademarks in the food sector in Germany. In 1899, Onno Behrends already had around 2000 sales outlets and the company had such a significant market share that it said of itself that it was “out of competition”. Onno Behrends died of a stroke in 1920. The company was continued by his son Bernhard Behrends.

The OnnO Behrends GmbH & Co. KG is now part of Laurens Spethmann Holding .
