Onosma simplicissima is a plant type from the genus of onosma ( Onosma ) in the family of the Boraginaceae (Boraginaceae).
description
Onosma simplicissima is a perennial plant with a branched, woody rhizome from which a multitude of non-flower-bearing leaf rosettes arise. The flower-bearing stems reach heights of 15 to 30 cm. They are not branched and hairy with close-fitting bristles. The lower leaves are 30 to 50 mm long and 2 to 4 mm wide, linear or linear-lanceolate and densely haired with white or gray bristles. The upper leaves are green on top and hairy on the underside, similar to the lower leaves.
The inflorescences are unbranched or have a few short branches. The flower stalks are 1 to 4 mm long, the bracts are shorter than the calyx . This is 6 to 8 mm long at flowering time, 10 to 13 mm at fruit ripeness. The crown is 16 to 22 mm long, pale yellow, hairless but finely papillary . Usually it is about two to three times as long as the chalice.
The fruits are about 2 to 3 mm long, smooth nuts .
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 14.
Occurrence
The species is widespread in southeastern Russia and eastern Ukraine .
