Onosma tinctoria is a plant type from the genus of onosma ( Onosma ) in the family of the Boraginaceae (Boraginaceae).

description

Onosma tinctoria is a more or less lawn - forming biennial plant . The stems reach heights of 20 to 70 cm. Several stems appear per plant, they are upright, strongly branched, finely hairy and hairy with protruding, 1 to 3 mm long bristles. The lower leaves are 30 to 150 mm long and 3 to 15 mm wide, elongated or elongated spatulate-shaped and fine on the upper side and hairy with bulbous thickened bristles at the base. They are finely hairy on the underside and only hairy with bristles along the midrib and the leaf margin.

The inflorescences are heavily branched. The flower stalks are 1 to 2 mm long, the bracts are about as long as the calyx . This is 6 to 11 mm long at flowering time and 12 to 20 mm at fruit ripeness. The crown is 8 to 12 (rarely up to 15) mm long, pale yellow and often tinged with purple, hairless or finely haired on the corolla lobes. Usually it is about 1 1/3 times as long as the chalice.

The fruits are about 3 to 4 mm long, smooth nuts .

Occurrence

The species is widespread in the southern part of the former Soviet Union , is also found in Ukraine and Turkey, and extends in the north up to the 53rd parallel .
