Openbravo is an ERP program that can be operated entirely via a web browser. It is open source and comes under the Openbravo Public License, which in turn is based on the Mozilla Public License . The target group are small and medium-sized companies.

It has its roots in Spain and is partly based on Compiere as a fork .

On the server side, Openbravo is optionally based on the PostgreSQL or Oracle databases , the Java Development Kit (JDK) and uses Apache Tomcat .

In November 2019, openbravo announced that it will delete the sources on sourceforge from January 2020 and will only be available as a cloud application for a fee.

Openbravo POS

Openbravo POS is cash register software that has a high degree of integration with Openbravo ERP .

Openbravo POS requires the Java Runtime Environment from version 5 and, according to the documentation, works either with Oracle 10g (also Express), PostgreSQL 8, MySQL 5 or HSQLDB .

The software is optimized for the use of touchscreen monitors and connects to a large number of peripheral devices, such as B. Receipt printer (Epson, JavaPOS, etc.), cash register displays and cash drawers.
