The operation Title was a failed commando raid by British Special Operations Executive (SOE) to the sinking of the German battleship Tirpitz , on command of Sir Winston Churchill .

Under the direction of after England had fled Norwegian Leif Andreas Larsen (better known as the Shetland Larsen ) the fishing boat was Arthur on October 30, 1942 two Chariot torpedoes in tow close enough to the Fættenfjord east of Trondheim lying Tirpitz bring to using of the Chariots to place two warheads on the Tirpitz. When the Arthur arrived late in the Trondheimfjord on October 31 after a machine failure, she got into bad weather that evening. One of the chariot struck the Arthur's propeller and had to be abandoned. During the subsequent examination of the propeller, the crew found that the second Chariot had also been lost just 16 km from the target. Therefore, in the early morning of November 1st, the crew decided to abandon the Arthur and sink it. A man was captured by the Germans and in accordance with a command command executed Hitler.

Leif Larsen received the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal for this service .
