Oppenheim reflex
The Oppenheim reflex (after Hermann Oppenheim ) is one of the pyramid orbit signs that indicate damage to central motor neurons . If the front edge of the tibia is stroked vigorously with the thumb and index finger , as with the other pyramidal tract signs, tonic dorsiflexion of the big toe as well as toes II to V are often spread.
Further pyramidal signs are the reflexes according to Joseph Babinski ( Babinski reflex ), Gordon ( Gordon reflex ), Chaddock ( Chaddock reflex ) and Adolf von Strümpell ( Strümpell sign ), which are sometimes referred to as reflexes of the Babinski group.
These reflexes are physiological in newborns and infants , and obligatorily pathological in adults .
