Optimum Nutrition, Inc. is a US manufacturer of nutritional supplements based in Illinois . The company emerged from Costello's Health Distributors, founded in 1986 by the brothers Tony and Michael Costello. Since 2008, Optimum Nutrition has been part of the Irish Glanbia Group.

Since 2008, Optimum Nutrition has been part of the Glanbia Group , which bought the company for $ 315 million. At that time, Optimum Nutrition had 387 employees and generated $ 185 million in sales on $ 32 million in profit. Since 2011, the Glanbia Group has also owned the US dietary supplement company Bio-Engineered Supplements and Nutrition, Inc. (BSN) .

Products

Optimum Nutrition is best known for the Gold Standard 100% whey. It is the world's best-selling whey protein powder . In addition, in 2005 Optimum Nutrition launched the Gold Standard 100% Casein, the first protein powder that consisted exclusively of casein protein , thus establishing the category of slowly digestible protein powders.
