Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini

The Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini (German: Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra) is a youth orchestra in Piacenza and Ravenna ( Italy ).

Sometimes it is also called Luigi Cherubini Orchestra or just Orchestra Cherubini referred. The name is derived from the Italian composer Luigi Cherubini .

The orchestra was founded in 2004 by Riccardo Muti . Since then, he has been the musical director of the ensemble, which is engaged in both opera and symphonic music.

A foundation takes on the organization of the performances, members are accepted into the orchestra if they have qualified for it through an audition . Eligible are people who are citizens of an EU member state and who have studied at conservatoires , participation is limited to the age of 18 to 27 years.
