A central shield is placed on the cross . The front is enamelled in white and shows the golden K for the king's name. The central shield is framed by a ring with gold rims on both sides. The circlet itself is made of blue enamel and has the golden inscription Kamehameha I on the front . The lapel shows E Hookanaka (be a man) as the motto of the order .

The ribbon was adapted to the class. For the Grand Cross it is red with narrow white side stripes. For the II. And III. It has four red stripes and three white stripes.
