Order of Brotherly Unity

The order of fraternal unity was established shortly after the death of Elector Christian I of Saxony in 1591 . As founder Herzog Friedrich Wilhelm viewed from Weimar. He had taken over the guardianship of Christian I's three underage children and the order was to bind the brothers forever. Nothing is known about the statutes . The purpose of keeping feelings for brotherly love and friendship, also in the next generation, as a motto in life, is atypical for an order of knights .

The whereabouts of the order is unknown.

Medals

The gold medal showed two beaked pigeons on the front. The reverse carried the slogan from the well-known student chant: “Ecce quam bonum habitare fratres in unum”.
