Order of the Golden Society

The order of the golden society , occasionally with the addition " in Saxony ", was founded by the elector Christian I of Saxony . The order of knights , which soon became extinct , was founded in 1590.

Order decoration

The order decoration was an enamelled red heart, which was carried on a gold chain around the neck. Sword and arrow crossed in the heart. On the obverse the image of faith and on the reverse the image of constancy. The image of loyalty hovered over the center of the heart. An inscription as the motto of the order read: "Qui perseverit usque ad finem salvus erit".
