Order of February 25, 1948

The Order of February 25, 1948 was founded by Decree No. 34 of February 8, 1949 by the Czechoslovak government and awarded to people who had made outstanding contributions to the completion of People's Democracy in the February days of 1948. The award could also be given to institutions and groups.

Order classes

The order consists of three classes

  • I. class
  • II class
  • III. class

Order decoration

The medal of the 1st class is a five-pointed red enameled star with small spheres on the tips. There are blazing gold-plated flames between the star rays . On the star lies a silver medallion in which the three-line inscription 25 UNOR 1948 (25 February 1948) can be read. Below is a stylized hand holding a linden branch and a flag .

The II. And III. Class is a round bronze silver-plated or bronze medal and shows the image of the medallion already described. On the reverse in the upper semicircle the two-line inscription REPUBLIKA ČESKOSLOVENSKÁ (Republic of Czechoslovakia). A linden branch can be seen in the middle and below it the two-line inscription VÚLE LIDU ZÁKONEM (The will of the people a law).

Carrying method

The first class was worn as a pin badge on the left chest, the medal on a red ribbon on the left chest.
