Order of the Alliance
The Order of the Alliance , also the Order of the Alliance or the Union , was a Swedish knightly order .
The order was donated in 1527 by the Swedish King Gustav I on the occasion of his marriage to the daughter of the Elector of Brandenburg . The foundation event “marriage” and the date must be doubted, because the first marriage to Katharina von Sachsen-Lauenburg-Ratzeburg was completed in 1531.
The order was designed as an order of court honor .
