Order of the Gorse Flower

The order of the gorse flower (French: "Ordre de la Coste de Genest") was a French knightly order . He became 1234 after the coronation of the wife of King Louis IX. (Louis the Saint) of France or shortly afterwards by King Charles VI. donated, but did not last long.

The translation of the name from French describes the term “ pod ” better; therefore the term "order (of) the gorse pod" is also in use.

The sign of the order was a golden cross made from the pods of the gorse , in between golden lilies , with the motto "Exaltas humiles" inlaid on it in black . It was worn on a short necklace composed of golden hearts.
