Order of the Golden Shackle
The Order of the Golden Fetter was a French knightly order . The full name was Order of the Knights of the Golden Fetter and the Squire of the Silver Fetter .
The order was donated by Duke Johann von Bourbon on January 1, 1415. The order was extinguished due to the premature death of the founder during his approximately 20 years' imprisonment in England.
The order was limited to 16 knights and squires of noble origin. All members of the order decided on a new admission.
The medal was an ankle cuff on a gold chain for knights and a silver chain for squires. The medal was placed on the left ankle on Sunday. The violation of the rules of the order was punished financially in favor of the poor. The knights of the order had a duty to protect women. They had to fight a fight every two years. In the event of a defeat, they became the property of the winner; in the event of death or illness, their decorations were kept in the religious order.
