The Orderman GmbH is a subsidiary of American NCR Corporation and is based in Salzburg . Orderman is the inventor of the mobile radio ordering system. With the help of mobile handhelds, orders are entered at the table and sent by radio to the kitchen and bar. Orderman sells its products across Europe. Orderman devices are in use in around 40,000 restaurants. Research and development, production and sales control are largely carried out in Salzburg.

history

Orderman was founded in 1993 as "think dig High Tech Solutions". The first customers were ski huts and discos . In 2007 the company was renamed "Orderman GmbH". The four shareholders Alois Eisl (Managing Director), Gottfried Kaiser (Research), Franz Blatnik (Development) and Willi Katamay (Head of Sales) shared the company equally.

On July 7, 2008, it was announced that the company's shares in Radiant Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: RADS), the US market leader in POS solutions for the hospitality industry, had been sold. In 2011, NCR Corporation , inventor of the cash register , acquired Orderman’s parent company, Radiant Systems. Orderman is now part of the NCR Corporation.

Since the introduction of the mobile radio ordering systems, no competitor has been able to prevail against NCR Orderman, which means that the company remains the European market leader to this day (as of 2015).

Products

In 2015, NCR Orderman’s product range consists of mobile wireless ordering systems and POS cash register systems as well as accessories such as Bixolon printers, mobile belt printers, carrier bags and touch pens. NCR Orderman wireless ordering systems can be classified into four product types - NCR Orderman7, Sol, Max2 and Leo2, each of which offers individual product variants.

Touchscreen devices are mainly used by companies that have a wide range of products. The manufacturer advertises the keyboard-based PLU device Leo2 for high-frequency gastronomy. The handhelds are used by service staff to enter orders and to carry out payment processes using cash or card payments. Receipts are often printed out directly at the guest using a special belt printer.

NCR Orderman also offers four different products for POS systems (as of 2015): The Orderman Columbus, NCR XR7, NCR T1000 and P1X30.

The Columbus family of PC registers introduced in 2010 is one of the first registers based on the TuxTAP system (2007) without moving and therefore vulnerable parts. The Orderman Columbus500 has been the best-selling till ever since.

According to a telephone survey from 2007 by the market research institute “OGM” on behalf of Orderman, in which 399 interviews were carried out, an average increase in sales of 8.5% is possible with wireless ordering systems. A study by Ploner Consulting speaks of sales increases of between 5 and 25%.

This increase is to be achieved by saving time. As a result, tables would be better utilized and at the same time no consumption would be forgotten in the billing.

Company figures

Orderman handhelds, cash registers and services are used in more than 40,000 restaurants worldwide. The technology, which is geared towards user experience and design, has made Orderman the world market leader for mobile working in the catering industry. Several million orders are processed daily via around 75,000 Orderman handhelds and tills.
