Order of Science (OdW) is a free online journal founded in Freiburg im Breisgau in November 2013 for the law of science, research and teaching, which primarily deals with current legal issues of German university law. The magazine appears quarterly and is available both online and as a PDF version. It is published and produced on a non-profit basis; its first edition 2014/1 has been online since November 2013. For the PDF version, a table of contents and an index is created for each year.

The main focus is on the law of universities, the law of university staff, the law of non-university research institutions, the law of research funding, the law of university medicine, copyright and inventor rights in research and teaching, academic and ethical requirements, legal issues in science journalism as well as research and development in business and the European and international legal references of scientific law.

It was founded by the Freiburg law professors Manfred Löwisch , Thomas Würtenberger and the Freiburg lawyer Cornelia Feldmann, who also form the magazine's board of directors. They are supported by the Scientific Society Freiburg im Breisgau and the Society for Labor Law in the Enterprise eV

The editorial team consists of Tobias Mandler, Fritz Pieper, Andreas Schubert and Sarah Tarantino.
