history

At the beginning of the 20th century, Oregina was mainly characterized by agricultural land, which was displaced by rapidly built houses in the post-war period of World War II . Between the streets Via Balestrazzi and Via Napoli to the streets Via Paleocapa and Via Vesuvio , a number of apartment buildings were built in a very short time. The creation of housing had become necessary due to the explosive population development triggered by the economic boom in the city. Thousands of workers had moved from the economically weak south of Italy to the Ligurian capital.
