The organization of the naturists in Switzerland (ONS; to 1938; Swiss Lichtbund ) is an organization of nudism in Switzerland . The office is located in Gampelen BE.

history

The organization was founded in 1927 by Eduard Fankhauser politically and denominationally neutral. From 1938 it was called the Organization of Naturists in Switzerland (ONS). She strove for health sports , the care of the mind, vegetarianism , tobacco and alcohol abstinence . Between 1926 and 1944, the organization in Switzerland created twelve trials for the “right to the naked body” for publicity. In 1937 a naturist area was set up in Thielle . In 1928 the organization founded the journal Die neue Zeit , after which the number of members grew to 2,500 by 1948. In 1956, a member under Carl Frank separated from the organization of Swiss naturists because of personal and ideological differences, and founded the Swiss Naturist Federation (SNSF). In 1961, the ONS established a foundation of the same name, which aimed at healthy leisure activities in the spirit of life reform . The ONS and the SNSF were combined in the Swiss Naturist Union. In 2003 it had around 10,000 active members and is a member of the International Naturist Federation .
