Orhon Murat Arıburnu

Orhon Murat Arıburnu (* 1918 or 1920 in Istanbul ; † April 11, 1989 there ) was a Turkish author . He was one of the co-founders of the Turkish Writers' Union and also worked in Germany for a while .

In the 1940s he belonged to the lyric movement Erste Neue , which attracted attention with its ironic, concise style. Later - when he worked as a theater director in Berlin for a few years - he also became known to a German audience through poetry readings in Germany. His collection of poems from 1940 to 1982 Bu yürek sizin (1982) was published in 1987 under the title This heart belongs to you in German.

As an actor and director, Arıburnu has worked in numerous productions. After his death, a prize named after him was set up, which was awarded annually from 1990 to 2005 in various categories from film and literature.
