Origin is a data analysis and presentation program. In addition to the representation of raw data in 2D and 3D graphics ready for publication, Origin masters many common analysis methods such as fits , Fourier transformations , etc. Created graphics can be exported in many file formats, such as EPS , JPEG , GIF , TIFF , PDF and WMF .

Origin includes a number of features designed to meet the needs of scientists and engineers. Multi-sheet workbooks, graphics ready for publication, and standardized analysis tools provide a seamlessly integrated workspace for importing data, creating and customizing charts, and exploring and analyzing data. Origin provides tools for data analysis, such as complex statistics , regression , non-linear curve fitting, image and signal processing and peak analysis.

OriginPro

OriginPro is the advanced version for scientists and engineers who want to carry out advanced numerical calculations and analyzes, statistics, 3D and pulse fit. OriginPro provides these with a multitude of complex tools integrated into the user interface.

history

Origin was developed by MicroCal Inc. , a manufacturer of microcalorimeters , to evaluate the measured data and was first presented to the public in March 1991. Due to the success of the software, the independent company Microcal Software, Inc. was founded in October 1992. This moved its headquarters to Northampton , Massachusetts in May 1993 and was renamed OriginLab Corporation in August 2000 . Later, Additive made Origin and OriginPro available completely in German with manuals. In addition to English, versions in Japanese and German are also available.
