Orion is a Franco-Belgian comic book set in ancient Greece . The hero of the title is the young warrior Orion, who is used by the strategist Pericles for the interests of the city of Athens.

Jacques Martin wrote and drew the first album. The next two albums were finished with the help of Christophe Simon . Another story was announced with Le rois des rois , but it never appeared. The albums were released sequentially by Bagheera, Orix and Dargaud . Later Casterman brought out a complete edition. It wasn't until 13 years after the last album that a new story came out, written and drawn by the newcomer Marc Jailloux .

In 1992 , Carlsen released the first album in German-speaking countries under the title Der Heilige See .

In his 1996 book Comics , Andreas C. Knigge wrote that Orion “was not a success”.
