Oris (magazine)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Oris ( borrowed from the Latin oris , for outline or " mouth ") is a Croatian architecture magazine . The editor describes the magazine as 'Časopis za arhitekturu i kulturu' (in German: 'Magazine for Architecture and Culture').

history

Oris has been published every two months since 1998 and covers the media area of Croatia , Slovenia and Bosnia-Herzegovina .

In addition to Croatian, the texts are also written in English. The processed topics cover the bandwidth of the architecture. The projects presented represent an international cross-section, with an emphasis on work from the region. In addition to architecture, there is a separate section in the magazine that deals with subjects in art in general. For example photography or event art, often with a representation of the connections between these and architecture as conventionally understood. The entire advertising block is summarized at the beginning of each issue and does not disturb the flow of reading.

The publisher Arhitekst also organizes the annual Oris Days. These are popular among architects in the region because they can be counted towards advanced training courses prescribed by the Croatian Chamber of Architects. This is a two day event with lectures from architects from around the world.
