Osama Said

Osama Said (born September 25, 1957 in Nahef , Israel ) is an important Arab-Israeli artist whose works have already been exhibited in many countries.

In 1976 he took part in various painting, drawing and modeling courses. After completing his Abitur (1977) and a bank apprenticeship (1978), he decided to attend the Art Academy ( Bezalel Academy ) in Jerusalem. At the same time he took part in the lessons of the Pelec Center for the youth department of the Israel Museum Jerusalem, where he steadily expanded his artistic activity. In 1981 Osama Said moved to Germany and enrolled at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin (HdK) as a guest auditor before finally starting to study painting at the HdK in 1982. He completed his studies in 1988 with a master's degree from Marwan , whereupon he received a Nafög scholarship from the HdK for the next two years (1989–1990). From 1991 to 1993 he received work contracts from the Berlin Senate and then lived in Berlin as a freelance artist until 1998. In 1998 he returned to his hometown Nahef, where he has been working as an art teacher at the technical high school since then. In addition, he received the Art Teacher's Scholarship from the Israeli Ministry of Art from 1999–2000, taught painting at the Arab College in Sachnin from 1999–2002 and was a lecturer in art at the Israeli Barinlan College in Safed from 2000–2004 .
