Oskar Czepa (model pilot)
Oskar Czepa (born March 1, 1926 in Mährisch Trübau ) is an Austrian model pilot and model aircraft designer.
His greatest success was the world championship title, which he obtained on August 24, 1951 in Bled in the F1A class (model sailplanes; free flight). A replica of his winning model at the time, the “toothpick”, is on display in the Deutsches Museum in Munich .
Oskar Czepa has set numerous Austrian records, for example with a flight time of 7:01:18 h, the Austrian record for long-term flight for RC model gliders on September 5, 1964 in Winden am See / Burgenland .
Oskar Czepa currently holds three Austrian records (class F5-S distance in a closed circle [36.6 km], F5-SOL duration [4h 32min 33s], F5-SOL distance in a closed circle [92 km]).
