Oskar Feuge

Oskar Feuge also Oscar Feuge ( 1861 - 1913 ) was a German opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Feuge initially aspired to a scientific profession, but had his voice trained by Eugen Hildach . In 1887 he was engaged at the Stadttheater Mainz and made his debut as "Manrico" in the Troubadour .

Then he went to Dessau in 1888, where he stayed until his death. First he sang the lyric subject there, then in the hero and character subject, including Wagner roles such as "Siegmund" in the Walküre , the "Lohengrin", the "David" in the Meistersinger and the "Mime" in the Nibelungenring .

In the world premiere of the opera Der Totentanz by Josef Reiter on November 5, 1905, he took part as did his wife Emilie Feuge-Gleiß .

He also gave concerts and guest performances, etc. a. 1903 at the Covent Garden Opera London as "Froh" in Rheingold .

His daughter Elisabeth Feuge also became an opera singer.
