Oskar Mikula

Oskar Mikula (born August 2, 1894 in Schachendorf ; † June 29, 1971 in Graz ) was an Austrian senior teacher and politician ( ÖVP ). Mikula was married and a member of the Burgenland state parliament .

Mikula was born as the son of the teacher Kaspar Mikula from Parndorf and grew up in a Burgenland-Croatian family. After primary school he attended the teacher training college in Győr, graduated from high school in 1913 and then worked as a primary school teacher. Between November 11, 1934 and March 12, 1938, Mikula was a representative of the "school, education and popular education system" in the state parliament. He was also on the board of the “Croatian Cultural Association” (HKD) from 1929 to 1938 and was briefly imprisoned in 1938. He was released from school and worked as an insurance officer. Between 1944 and 1945 he served in the Wehrmacht. Mikula became headmaster in Schachendorf after the Second World War and moved to Graz after his retirement in 1957. In 1958 he was appointed high school supervisor. Mikula represented the ÖVP in the Burgenland state parliament between January 4, 1946 and November 4, 1949.
