from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ostróda Reggae Festival is the biggest Polish reggae - festival . It takes place annually in August in Ostróda in Masuria .

history

Emerging from the Ost-Rock Festiwal, which took place from 2001 to 2003 and where reggae became increasingly important, it has been a pure reggae festival since 2004 , which has been growing steadily since then, both in importance and in the number of performing artists.

The Polish reggae scene primarily presents itself there, but foreign bands are always represented in the line-up. The "Białe Koszary" area, which has been in use since 2004, is a former barracks , may have been strange for parts of the reggae world, but has proven to be an advantage for the festival. In addition to the main stage, which is in the open air, there has been a second stage in one of the large halls since 2005. There is also an area for sound systems , a cinema and a tea room. The camping site is located on the festival site.
