Ostseepokal (boxes)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Baltic Cup is a nationwide boxing tournament for young amateurs, which has been held annually since 1970. Today it is organized by the boxing association Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and was organized in the past by several boxing clubs of the city of Stralsund.

The traditional tournament is considered to be the largest and most powerful junior tournament for age groups 13/14 in which, in addition to selected teams from various regional associations, individual fighters from German and foreign clubs take part.

Due to the high level of performance, the winners and those placed in the tournament often became German champions and former GDR or Spartakiade champions in the same year.
