East Thuringia tour

The East Thuringia Tour is a stage race in road cycling that has been held annually in and around Gera since 2003 for school riders in the age groups U11m / f, U13m / f and U15w .

The event is one of the largest German cycling races for youngsters and has a permanent place in the racing calendar of the Association of German Cyclists . Around 300 young athletes from all over Germany and abroad regularly take part.

Pascal Ackermann , who is successful in the UCI World Tour races, and the world champion in the track sprint, Stefan Bötticher, are among the winners of the past few years in the elite category .

The supporting program includes a race for everyone , a kids cup for children without a license and a running bike race for toddlers.

Competition mode

The main races consist of the prologue and three stages. Depending on the age group, criteria and circuit races , individual time trials , road races and skill drives are held.

For the overall individual ranking, points are added for the placements in the prologue and the stages. In addition, there are achieved bonuses. In the event of a tie, the better placement on the final stage decides.

The leader in the overall individual classification of the respective age group wears the yellow leadership jersey . The driver of the younger generation in the age group who is best placed in the overall individual evaluation of the respective age group receives the white junior jersey . In the overall ranking, the best Gera athlete in every age group receives the blue jersey .
