Oswald Külpe Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Oswald Külpe Prize was created in 2004 in memory of Oswald Külpe and the Würzburg School of Thinking Psychology that he founded.

This award honors internationally outstanding scientists who use experimental methods to research higher mental processes. The prize was donated by Fritz Strack , a Würzburg professor of social psychology , who initially remained anonymous as the donor until the 2013 award. The foundation's assets amounted to 100,000 euros. The prize itself is endowed with 4,000 euros (as of 2013). The selection of the winners and the awarding of the prize is the responsibility of the Institute for Psychology at the University of Würzburg .
