Ota B. Kraus
Ota B. Kraus , also Otto B. Kraus (born September 1, 1921 in Prague , † October 5, 2000 in Netanya ) was a Czech writer and teacher .
Life
From 1942 he was deported via Theresienstadt to Auschwitz and then to Schwarzheide . Back in Prague he studied literature and philosophy at the Charles University and emigrated to Israel in 1949, where he worked as an English teacher and educator in the Hadassim youth village near Netanya and as a graphologist. Kraus wrote the novels Earth Without God in 1954 and My Brother, the Smoke in 1993 . Here he describes his experiences in Theresienstadt. The story Dancer on the Rope was published in the quarterly magazine for literature Ravkol in 2000 and in 1993 The Painted Wall .
