Othmar Peer (born April 22, 1953 in Mutters near Innsbruck) is an Austrian sports presenter.

Life

As a luge he was national champion several times and was a European and World Cup participant.

Peer has moderated international sporting events since the 1980s. This includes countless world cups, world championships, cycling races such as the 2018 cycling world championship, the Giro d'Italia , the Tour de Suisse or the Germany tour . For years, Peer has also been or was a track spokesman on the German sledge runs in Oberhof , Altenberg , on the Königsee and in his home town of Innsbruck- Igls. Cycling and tobogganing are the specialty of the Tyrolean. Peer was also one of the inventors and organizers of the long-distance cycling race Race across the Alps in Nauders , and was significantly involved in the ascent of the Ötztal cycling marathon , which he has moderated for over 30 years.
