Otites centralis is a species from the family of flies (Ulidiidae).
features
The flies reach a body length of 2.5 to 5 millimeters. The head is covered with silver and white, the body is otherwise covered with gray. The forehead and the lower face are yellow, the back of the head and the cheeks are dark. The welt on the forehead, like the antennae, is dull red-yellow. The third antenna segment is brownish above and in front. The mesonotum has four brownish longitudinal stripes. The swinging bulbs ( holders ) are yellow, the legs are black. On the abdomen, only the first two tergites are not colored brown at the back. The wings are clearly patterned brown.
Occurrence and way of life
The animals are mainly found in and around Central Europe and are widespread.
