Otmar Gutmann

Otmar Gutmann (born April 24, 1937 in Münstertal / Black Forest, Germany ; † October 13, 1993 in Russikon , Switzerland ) was a German filmmaker and animator . In 1990 he invented the animated film series Pingu for the children's program of the Swiss television station DRS .

Life

Otmar Gutmann created the figure of Pingu in the early 1980s. “Otmar wanted to tell stories at eye level with the children. He didn't want to show violence or artificial heroic adventures, but everyday life ”.
