Otovice (Řehlovice)

Otovice (German: Hottowitz ) was a settlement in the Lochočice municipality. It was located at an altitude of 187 m above the Adriatic Sea in Okres Ústí nad Labem ( Czech Republic ). In 1979 it was demolished because of the advancing coal mining in the North Bohemian Basin . Before that time it consisted of 19 houses in which 83 people lived.

In 1334 the Prague bishop Johann IV of Dražice donated “villam Hottouiczy” to the Raudnitz monastery . In exchange for other villages, he received it back a short time later. The community came under the rule of the Geiersburg . 1522 acquired Hottowitz Johann Glatz Althof ( Stary Dvur ), which is based in a now defunct district of barley had. The next owners from 1579 were Johann and Georg von Ocelovice. Hottowitz became the administrative center of their rule, which also included Lochočice, Tuchomyšl, Habří, Rabenov, Vyklice and Ebersdorf.

At the beginning of the 17th century, the son of Friedrich Hora built a fortress in the village. After the Battle of the White Mountain in 1623 he lost a third of his fortune because of his participation in the class uprising . He had to sell the remaining two thirds to Peter Heinrich von Strahlendorf and Kulm . The village came under the rule of Kulm . The fortress was abandoned in 1661 and only served as a barn. Around 1740 coal mining began in the area. In June 1757 Hottowitz was occupied by the Prussian army before the Battle of Kolín .
